About the role
As a Voice AI Engineer, you'll work on the core of Callab AI: agents that listen, reason, and respond in real time on live phone calls. You'll own latency, conversation quality, and reliability for customers who run thousands of calls a day.
Responsibilities
Build and improve real-time speech and LLM pipelines
Reduce latency and keep conversations natural
Create evaluations that measure agent quality on real calls
Work with the founders on what ships next
Requirements
3+ years building production backend systems
Strong Python or TypeScript
Experience with LLMs in production
Comfort owning problems end to end in a small team
Nice to have
Experience with speech recognition, TTS, or streaming audio
Familiarity with WebRTC or SIP
